Christmas Concert

This past Tuesday Alora participated in Westar's annual Christmas Concert for grades K-4th.  This years program was something to do with penguins, but I never really understood the whole storyline and it was kind of hard to hear the words the kids were singing since the soundtrack was way too loud. Regardless, Alora held it together (no fits, hallelujah!) and did great!

Alora was front row (she's the smallest once again)

(she never did look too excited to be up there.)

Grinchmas

Tonight we had our church Christmas party, a "Grinchmas" celebration. The entire gymnasium and front foyer were transformed in Whoville and the Grinch, himself, even stopped by to visit and take pictures with the kids.  The decorations were fantastic and the Grinch's make-up was very believable.

School Christmas Performances

It's that time of year again when we have to cram ourselves into the toasty-warm gymnasium and hear the same old random Christmas songs (i.e. Hearts Around the World) sung by our kids.  Noah is too old to perform, so this year it was just Jackson and Alora.  Even though the songs are kind of on the annoying side, the performance was actually pretty good and our kids did great.

Alora is again the smallest 2nd grader.  At least we get to see her entire body and not just a little head poking out!

Jackson's last year performing.  Another one down!
Max had his own preschool Christmas performance last night.  Poor kid fell asleep half an hour before we had to go and then was super scared being up on stage in front of everyone.  I would try to motion to him to smile and he would just shake his head and stick out his bottom lip even further.  It was too cute.

Twas the Night Before Christmas...

After spotting Santa's sleigh off in the dark sky, Alora sprinkled the reindeer food on the driveway that she made in her Kindergarten class.  Jackson was once again afraid of Santa coming inside our house.  "I don't want him to take me!"
