TRRFCC Character

Noah was chosen as one of the few students in his school to receive the TRRFCC character award.  This award is given to those students who have been a role model to his/her peers this past school year.

Noah's teacher, Mrs. Matteson, said this in her nomination of Noah, "Noah has expemplified TRRFCC character throughout this entire year! He comes to school each day with a positive attitude, his work always meets and often exceeds the expectations. There is evidence of careful consideration to assignments. Noah is extremely humble and kind to others. He would do anything for anyone in the class, and I feel that Noah has perhaps not been given the recognition that he so deserves because he is so quiet, compliant, and humble. I cannot think of a better candidate for this award!"  We are so proud of Noah and of everything he does!

Kindergarten Graduation

Mrs. McDaniel and Alora.

Little Miss Alora graduated from Kindergarten today and we are so proud of her.  Despite being the youngest, and by far the smallest, she defied the odds and did exceptionally well.  Her teacher, Mrs. McDaniel, commented that Alora was "small but mighty" and how true that is!

The last full day of school she even got sent to the principal's offce for hitting a classmate who tried to console her when a heavy box fell on her head.  She obviously wanted none of that!

Dancing Queen

It's almost recital time for Alora!  This past year she has taken a 5/6 Combo class (tap, ballet, tumbling) at Desert West Dance and despite being the youngest, and smallest, she has done really well.  For her recital, she'll be doing a tap dance to the song, "Trickle, Trickle."  It is sooo cute.

Noah's 1st 5k

As part of their math unit, the entire fourth grade class participated in a 5k.  They practiced the past 3 weeks in preparation for today's race and surprisingly, they all completed it!  Each student ran 3.2 miles in today's race, making their grand total for the past three weeks over 1400 miles.

We initially were worried about Noah running that far because of his hip, but he did it!  On his last mile, he had to run back into the school and grab his inhalers (yes, he grabbed BOTH) but he came right back out and slowly finished.  What an awesome accomplishment for all of them!

The start of the race.  The first two miles Noah was right in the middle of the kids (about 72 participants).

I ran the last little bit with him for encouragement.  (Notice the water bottle and glasses in one hand and 2 inhalers in the other?)

Noah with some of this friends at the end of the race.  It was SOOO HOT!!!
