Every Centimeter Counts

Alora had her quarterly Endocrinology appointment today.  Not much has changed.  She's still measuring super small and her bone age is still about a year behind.  Her current measurements are:
  • Weight: 46.4 lbs  (she has gained 1 oz. since last measurement, now 4th percentile)
  • Height:  46" (she has gained 2 cm since last measurement, now 1% percentile)
So obviously not a lot of growth, but at least she's now somewhat on the charts.  The doctor mentioned starting the paperwork with the insurance company for growth hormone.  Jeremy doesn't want her to be on any, but I personally think that any little chance at an extra inch or two would be beneficial later on down the road.

First Pitch

Today Jeremy had the honor of throwing out the first pitch at the Diamondbacks vs Pittsburgh Pirates game.  His employer, Pacific Dental Services, sponsors the D-backs through their Smile Generation branch.  Jeremy was offered the chance and of course he couldn't turn it down.  The boys were especially stoked since they got to go on the field before the game.

Despite being slightly nervous, Jeremy did great!  Noah thought he even threw what would be considered a strike.  It was all pretty cool.  The game itself wasn't great, the Pirates whooped us 8-0, but it was still a fun afternoon.

Jeremy's first pitch!
Rubby De La Rosa was the player Jeremy threw to.  He then signed the ball for Jeremy to keep.

Lois Coronel, the Mexican Justin Bieber, sang the National Anthem.  He was right next to us on the field before the game and we had NO idea who he was... the teenage girls sure did though!

The boys were stoked that Paul Goldschmidt signed their baseballs before the game.  He's one of their favorite players.

Baseball is in Full Swing, Part Two

Jack's Little League crushed it when they played this past week at the Cincinnati Reds practice fields (12-0)!

Baseball is in Full Swing

Alora's first game was last night and she did great!  Despite being the only girl on the team, she seems to fit right in and even does better than some of the boys!

Both Max and Alora had games today and both did fantastic!  They each hit the first 1-2 pitches and ran like the wind.  Max even slid home, twice!

Baseball 2015

It's that time again!  BASEBALL!  It's the time of year where I feel like we are constantly go, go, go and the kids (and  me!) are exhausted the time evening comes.  It doesn't help that Jackson's games start at 7:45 pm and go until almost 10 pm!  Despite the busy schedules and late nights, it is fun to watch the kids play and improve each game.

Noah decided not to play again this year.  He was going to try out for the 7th/8th grade school team, but when we found out about a basketball camp the high school was hosting for two months, he chose that.  Jackson again is playing Goodyear Little League.  This year, because of his age, he is in the Majors division.  He is having to play against some big and really good players.  I think he's a little intimidated, but come next year, he should have a good advantage.  Both and Alora and Max are playing through Estrella Youth Sports (EYS), our community organization.  Max is on a coach pitch/t-ball combo team and Alora is on a coach pitch team.

Jackson has been playing a lot of 2nd base this year.

Winter Basketball

Both Jackson and Max are playing Winter Basketball this year through Estrella Youth Sports (EYS).  The club team for Noah didn't work out, so unfortunately he isn't playing on a team.  He does play at the park quite frequently with his friends, so that helps.

Being Max's first year, he hasn't quite learned exactly how to play basketball, he just knows you get the ball and shoot.  It's actually been quite fun to see him improve each game.  At his age level, they don't enforce the rules, but he's not afraid to get the ball anymore and he loves to shoot.  This past game he even made 3 baskets!

Jackson's team is 2-2 so far.  They've had some good competition and this past game lost in overtime.
