The End of 1st Grade: Noah

Update (5/29/09): Noah came out of school today crying, accompanied by his teacher. I asked him why he was crying and he said he was sad it the last day of school. What kid cries at that?! Poor Noah... it was both sad and funny at the same time.

The end of 1st grade for Noah is almost officially here; only 3 1/2 more days! It's hard to believe that we are going to have a 2nd grader, but also exciting to see what more Noah can learn. When we first found out that Noah was assigned to Ms. Groom's class we were a little worried. All of his friends seemed to be in Ms. Johnson's class and we knew nothing of Ms. Groom. However, Noah has loved every day in her class and has excelled really well. He can now read chapter books, tell time, figure out story problems, and he knows more about the different countries than most adults. He has also made some great friends. Posted below are some of the highlights of Noah's 1st grade year.

Noah was the first student in his class to be chosen as "Student of the Month."

Noah, as Indiana Jones, at his class Halloween party.

Noah with one of his Thanksgiving projects.

Noah with his rabbit book report.

Noah dressed up as Thing 1 for Dr.Seuss week.

Noah made homemade Valentine's for his class.

Noah, after his Valentine Party.

Noah with his Leprechaun trap.

Noah and our neighbor, Jessica, were chosen to salsa dance during their class performance of "La Bamba."
