The seasons are a little earlier here in Arizona, so now is the time to start planting the colder weather crops. I took the kids to Home Depot and they each picked out seeds that they could grow. They were a little bummed that they couldn't get the watermelon and pumpkin seeds just yet, so instead chose eggplant, sugar snap peas, black-eyed peas, oregano, and carrots.
Since we haven't built our raised garden boxes yet, the kids planted their seeds in peat pellets and placed them temporarily in the little "greenhouse" we purchased. Even though the kids won't really eat anything we planted, it's still going to be fun watching their seeds grow.
