I normally do not like lemonade (except my Grandma Frye's), but our lemon tree has started to produce a lot of lemons and we needed to start using them. My sister found this recipe tonight on Pinterest and surprisingly, I actually really liked it! In fact, our entire family loved it. It wasn't too sweet, or too sour. It was perfect.
Homemade Lemonade
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup boiling water
2 tsp fresh grated lemon rind
1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice
5 cups cold water
sliced lemons
Stir together sugar and 1/2 cup boiling water until sugar dissolves. Stir in leon rind, lemon juice and 5 cups cold water. Pour into a 2-quart pitcher. Chill 8 hours. Garnish with lemon slices. Serve over ice.
